career & education
- 1983
- Born in Kuala Lumpur. Spent most of his childhood in Keramat, Kuala Lumpur.
- 1990
- Primary school at Sekolah Kebangsaan Lembah Keramat.
- 1991–1995
- Primary school at Sekolah Kebangsaan AU Keramat.
- 1996–2000
- Secondary school at Sekolah Alam Shah, Kuala Lumpur — a boarding school. Active in track and field, competing in distance events from 400m to 1500m.
- 2000–2006
- Studied Mechanical Engineering (Honours) at Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN).
- 2006
- Internship at Shin Etsu Handotai (silicon wafer manufacturing), then a short part-time technician stint at TM Usahajaya doing civil and electrical work.
- 2007–2008
- Degree conferred. First engineering job at Nitto Denko Electronics, working on production line installation for a semiconductor moulding-compound plant.
- 2008–2010
- Moved into industrial cooling tower design at Matrix Cooling — projects across Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand for clients like ExxonMobil and Air Liquide.
- 2010
- Registered as a Graduate Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia. Briefly at UMW Corporation building training programmes for their Oil & Gas and Heavy Equipment divisions.
- 2011–2015
- Project Engineer, then Project Manager, at Caps Australia — compressed air and power generation engineering across Australia, plus projects in Laos and Ghana. This is where the shift from hands-on engineering toward project management really started.
- 2015–2021
- Project Manager at IBM Client Innovation Center — first supporting IBM's Global Account for North America, then IBM's Australia/New Zealand accounts. The pivot from mechanical engineering into large-scale IT infrastructure delivery.
- 2021–2022
- Project Manager at UOB Bank, then Transformation Manager at Etiqa leading the IFRS 17 reporting-standard implementation.
- 2022–present
- IT Infrastructure Project Manager on the AXA account (via R Systems Consulting), currently leading a Citrix on-prem-to-Azure cloud migration across Asia.
alongside all that
- 2022
- Started running more seriously — cross country, then progressively longer road races, finishing the year with a full marathon (Standard Chartered KL Marathon).
- 2024–2026
- Expanded into triathlon and duathlon — Powerman, Asia Triathlon Cup Putrajaya, Perak Multisport Festival, and a category win at Melaka OD Triathlon 2025 — then three IRONMAN 70.3 finishes: Desaru Coast 2025, Langkawi 2025, and Desaru Coast 2026.

- Self-taught coding and tinkering alongside all of the above — the Laravel/PHP apps, the self-hosted homelab, the 3D-printed and CAD-designed maker projects on this site weren't built for a portfolio, they're just what I build for fun.
