notable experience

Plain-language explainers for a few things mentioned on the career pages, for anyone not familiar with the jargon.

IFRS 17
A major global accounting standard for insurance contracts (effective 2023) that overhauled how insurers measure and report insurance liabilities. Implementing it is a large, cross-functional project touching Actuarial, Finance, and IT. see the project →
Citrix-to-Azure Cloud Migration
Moving a Citrix virtual desktop (VDI) environment from on-premises servers to a cloud-hosted version running on Microsoft Azure — retiring physical VDI infrastructure in favor of desktops delivered as a cloud service. see the project →
SAN & LUN Migration
SAN (Storage Area Network) is a dedicated high-speed network connecting servers to shared storage. A LUN (Logical Unit Number) is an individually addressable "slice" of storage carved out of that pool. Migrating thousands of LUNs between storage controllers, usually with systems still live, is high-stakes work — a storage outage cascades to everything connected to it. see the project →
ADVA DWDM Appliances
DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) is networking hardware that lets many independent data signals travel down a single fiber-optic cable at once, each on its own wavelength — dramatically increasing the bandwidth one fiber link can carry. ADVA is one of the vendors making this equipment, commonly used to link data centers together at high speed over long distances. see the project →
ServiceNow
A cloud-based IT service management (ITSM) platform used for tracking incidents, change requests, and service catalog items — the system of record for "who requested what, who approved it, and what happened" across a large IT organization. see the project →
Kubernetes
A container orchestration platform — it runs applications packaged as containers across a cluster of machines, automatically handling scaling, restarts, and rollouts. Part of the modern cloud infrastructure toolkit alongside Terraform, used for deploying and managing containerized workloads.
